George H Stadel Jr established his yacht designing business in 1928, building some of his early designs himself with a small crew and later branching out into marine surveys and consultation. Through the years he designed pleasure and commercial vessels, power and sail, built in wood and fiberglass. In the 1940s he designed small craft for the United States Navy and managed Rye Shipyard in Rye NY, building mine sweepers for the Second World War. His designs have been built in North America, Europe and Asia, navigating the major waters of the world.
In 1978 He formed George H Stadel Jr & Sons with his two sons, George Stadel III and Bill Stadel. Based in Stamford CT, George H Stadel Jr & Sons has provided design, marine survey and inspection, and consultation services both locally and internationally. With a broad background of expertise and experience, we provide personal service and prompt attention to our customers’ needs.
