Bill Stadel

Bill Stadel began surveying with his father, George H Stadel Jr, in 1975. He has experience surveying power and sail boats, mono and multi hulls, with various methods of construction in wood, fiberglass, carbon fiber, aluminum and steel. He has hands on experience in boat construction in wood, fiberglass and carbon.

Bill began studying yacht design with his father in the 1970s. He completed the lines and interior drawings for a 90′ replica of the schooner “Challenge” for Project Lakewell of Michigan in 1985. He has also worked on various systems designs for George H Stadel Jr & Sons.

He went on to do quality control inspections in Taiwan in the late 1970s where he also did lofting and mold building inspections and built the tank test model for the Albin 49, designed by his brother, George H Stadel III.

Bill has surveyed classic wood power and sail boats, cruising boats of various types and construction as well as carbon racing sail boats, surveying yachts and small commercial boats, mostly under 60′ in length. Bill’s work also includes consulting on various marine projects including for a trans Pacific voyage of the 60′ wood schooner, “Koukla”, designed by his brother.
